冬にしては暖かい土曜日のお昼頃、宮崎市霧島町の「聖三一教会」へ伺いました。そこでメサイア合唱団の皆さまからユニセフにご寄付をいただき、お茶をご一緒させていただきました。
メサイア合唱団は、毎年のクリスマスの時期に、教会でメサイアの合唱をされます。（子どもが巣立った我が家では、それが唯一のクリスマスらしい行事となっています。メサイアを聞いて帰路に着くと、何か心が洗われたような気分になります。皆様もぜひ今年はおいで下さい。）その時に寄せられた募金の中から、毎年ユニセフにご寄付をいただいています。本当にありがとうございます。日本ユニセフ協会に送って、世界の恵まれない子どもたちのために使われます。そして少しでも子どもたちの命と暮らしが守られますように。
2013年12月26日 担任の後藤先生が事務局に 国富町立本庄小学校3年2組のみなさんは花の苗を育てて販売し、その益金を「世界の子どもの命を守ることに役立てたい」と話し合い、「ユニセフ募金ハンド・ｲﾝ・ハンド2013」に届けてくださいました。2013年ハンド・ｲﾝ・ハンドのテーマは「栄養不良から小さな命を守ろう」です。 本庄小3年2組のみなさん、やさしいこころをありがとうございました。 募金額 2,960円
3日間にわたって行われたユニセフの募金活動が賑やかに終わりました。ご協力くださった皆様に心より感謝申し上げます。今年も会場はイオンモール宮崎さまにご協力いただきました。 以下、写真でその時の様子をお知らせします。 募金総額 320,303円

The theme of this year’s “Hand in Hand” campaign was “to save small lives from undernourishment.” The donation is to be sent to Japan UNICEF Association and then will be used for children in need in the world. We appreciate you all who participated in the “Hand in Hand” canpaign. We wish the world would become more peaceful next year.
2013.12.21（土） イオンモール宮崎スペースコートにて 今年もイオンモール宮崎様に会場を提供していただき『ユニセフDAY in イオンモール宮崎』を開催しました。クリスマスの飾りつけのスペースコートでの恒例のチャリティーコンサート。 フラダンス、ハーモニカ、キッズゴスペル、マンドリン演奏に、初出場の二胡も加わり大いに盛り上がりました。
At the space court in AEON Mall Miyazaki,we held “UNICEF DY IN AEON MALL MIYAZAKI ” The stage was decorated with Christma ornaments and we enjoyed hulas, harmonica music, kids’ gospel songs, mandolin performance and niko performance.

We also talked about UNICEF movement to the audience and asked for understanding and cooperation.

2013.12.14（土） ユニセフ・チャリティーお茶会実行委員会主催 於：『茶楽庵』 《地球の子らに幸いあれ》 忙しい年末の一日、美味しいお茶をいただきながら世界の子どもたちに想いを寄せる～をテーマに毎年12月に開催の「ユニセフ・チャリティーお茶会」 今年も表千家和心会の皆さまと宮崎経済連直販さまの協力のもと、宮崎経済連直販茶業部 2階『茶楽庵』にて開催しました。 ホールでは宮崎日大高校3年生が立礼でおもてなし、午前中の和室では今年も広原保育園の年長さんが見事なお点前を披露しました。
The charitiy tea ceremony was held supported by Omote Sen Ke, which is one of the biggest Japanese tea ceremony clans, Miyazaki Economics Association and Miyazaki Unicef Association. Every year in December we hold a charity tea ceremony and the theme is “Bless Children on Earth.” We enjoyed Japanese green tea,thinking of children in need in the world. High school students from Miyazaki Nihonn Daigaku performed a sitting-on-the-stool type of tea ceremony and served delicious tea for us. Children from a nurcery school served us another tea on the tatami floor. They were so cute and all did a good job.
午後は「JENESYS2.0 青少年交流事業」で来県中のバングラディシュの高校生2名が会場を訪れ、ユニセフのチャリティーイベントに参加しました。日本文化「茶道」を体験し、チャリティーボランティアの高校生との良い交流の機会となりました。
We had two guest students from Bangladesh, who happened to stay in Miyazaki by “JENESYS Exchange Program for Young Foreigners.” They experienced Japanese culture and enjoyed exchanging with Japanese students.
恒例のチャリティーバザーも同時開催、皆さまの協力で、持ち寄りの品々が大きな募金に変わりました。チケットの売り上げ他益金は、ユニセフ募金へ、今年は「フィリピン緊急募金」とさせていただきました。 募金総額 144,221円
We also had a yearly charity flea market. Many people cooperated and we could collect contributions. We, UNICEF Miyazaki Association, will send the donations made today to Nihon UNICEF Association as Philippines Emergency Donation. We thank you all.

さわやかな秋晴れの日、（11月7日（木））、宮崎市立生目小学校に、出前学習会に行ってきました。授業を受けてくれたのは、「海外旅行クラブ」の13人。日ごろから目を広く海外に向けている、元気な子供たちでした。
On a fine autumn day, we visited Ikime Elementary School to give UNICEF STUDY class. The students were members of the “traveling abroad” club. They were thirteen in all.
最初はユニセフのDVD「みんな地球ｌの仲間」を見ました。
First, we showed them the UNICEF DVD.
泥水を飲んでるシーンが、子供たちには強烈な印象を残したようでした。
Children seemed to be impressed by the scene where children were drinking muddy water in developing countries.
次に、「文字を知らないということ」の授業をしました。今回は、ネパール語とパキスタン語と韓国語でそれぞれ「水」・「薬」・「毒」と書いたペットボトルを使っての初めての取り組みでした。 村役場の人が各グループに3本ずつのペットボトルを配りますが、いざおなかが痛くなったときに、文字が読めないのでどのペットボトルが薬かわからなくなってしまいます。それで、間違って毒を飲んでしまうこともある、という流れを、参加型の授業でやってみました。
Then, we gave the lesson “What would happen if you cannot read language?” We prepared three bottles of water, medicine and poison, and the contents are written on each of the bottles in Nepali, which no one of us cannot read. We made a skit: when you have a stomachache which bottle do you take?

次に同じテーマで、文字を知らないで借用書にサインを書かされ、だまされて家と土地を取られるという話を、生徒に参加してもらいながらスキットを見せました。
If you can’t read language you might be cheated out of your house and land by wicked bankers.
時間があったので、もう一つ、買い物の場面で、計算ができないと お店の人にごまかされるよという話。これにも生徒に参加してもらって、スキットをやりました。
If you cannot calculate you might be cheated by a bad shopkeeper.
以上のまとめとして、カンボジアとネパールのスタディーツアーでとってきた子どもたちの写真を見せながら、ユニセフがどんなことをしているかを伝えました。
Lastly we showed some pictures of the children taken in Cambodia and Nepal in our study tour. We told them what Unicef was doing in many parts of the world.
学校に行って文字や計算を学ぶことが大切だとわかっていても、学校に通えない子供たちが、何とかして学校に通えるよう、ユニセフは様々な支援をしていることを伝えました。
UNICEF is supporting children who cannot go to school. They make schools in the village where they can go to study after work or before work.
ＤＶＤの映像で出てきた水がめを持って行ったので、子供たち一人一人に抱えてもらいました。その重さを実感して、水道のない生活の大変さを思ったようです。
Children are trying to lift the water jar and carry it. They know how heavy It is to carry aroud.
最後に、生徒全員が感想を述べてくれました。こちらが期待した以上の素敵な言葉で気持ちを表現してくれた子供もいました。以下に整理して報告します。
生徒たちの感想 Children’s Impressions
・自分の暮らしが当たり前と思っていたが、世界には当たり前でない子供たちがたくさんいることがわかり、自分たちはなんて恵まれているのだろうと思った。
We take our daily lives for granted, but looking around the world, there are many children in need having a hard life. We need to appreciate that we can lead a happy life every day.
・言葉を知らないと大変なことになるということが分かった。
I learned if we didn’t know how to read language, we’d get in trouble.
・5歳未満で死ぬ子供が世界には大勢いるということや、泥水で病気になるということを知った。
We learned many children are dying before five in the world. We also learned if we drank muddy water we’d get sick.
・学校に行けることがどれだけすごいことか分かった。
I learned how wonderful it was that I could go to school.
・学校とかに行きたくないと思ったりすることがあるが、いけない子供たちのことを考えたら、かわいそうだと思った。
Sometimes I’m reluctant to go to school, but thinking of the children who cannot go to school, I feel sorry for them.

１０月２６日、２７日に、宮交シティで「ユニセフパネル展ーアフリカを知ろう」が開かれました。
多くのお客様に見ていただき、クイズにも参加していただきました。今回も、プロの写真家小川秀子（当協会運営委員）氏の写真とともに、お伝えします。
On October 26th and 27th, UNICEF Panel Exhibition – Let’s Know More About Africa- was held at Miyako City. Many people came to see our panels and took part in the quiz on Africa. Ms. Ogawa, a professional photographer, took the pictures, and we would like to report the event with her pictures. We hope you could enjoy our report.
今回のパネルはアフリカはウガンダでの「命を守る１００万人の手洗いプロジェクト」というユニセフの取り組み。衛生製品会社のサラヤが売り上げの１％を寄付するという支援をしている。この写真はティップ タップという手洗いの装置。水を汚さずにみんなで手を洗う工夫に感心しました。
This is a device by which people can wash their hands without polluting water. UNICEF is working on the ” Hands Washing ” project in Uganda, and Saraya company is supporting the project.
手を洗っている子ども達。ってを洗うことによって、多くの命が救われる。 Children are wahing their hands. By washing hands, many lives are saved.
宮崎市に住んでいるタンザニア出身のレアさん。踊ったり歌ったり、太鼓を叩いたり、アフリカの文化を伝えてくれました。This is Rea san from Tanzania, living in Miyazaki City. She introduced the African culture, dansing, singing and playing the drum.
高校生も舞台に上がって、盛り上げてくれました。ありがとう。High school students also danced on the stage and helped make the stage enjoyable.
今回の工夫の一つ、アフリカの国名当てクイズです。アフリカについて私達がいかに知らないか、分かりました。でも小学生で全問（５問）正解した子もいました。One of the programs was a quize about Africa. How many countries do you know by name? An elementary school boy could answer perfect!
多くの方が高校生の呼びかけに答えて、たくさんの募金をしてくださいました。ありがとうございました。Many people stopped and gave a donation responding to high school students. We thank you very much.
高校生がいなくなると何だかさびしくなりました。代わりにスタッフも募金のお願いをしました。いつもすてきな光景に出会います。今回は、お父さんやお母さんが、小さい子ども達にお金を持たせて募金をさせる姿と、中学生の女生徒二人が、お小遣いを募金してくれた姿が、目に焼き付いています。本当にありがとうございました。Unicef staffs also stood and asked donation. Everytime we stand we meet wonderful people. Young parents sent their little children to us and they put some coins into our unicef box. Two junior high school girls came up to us and put some of their pocket money into unicef box. We were moved. Maybe their parents are also wonderful. Thank you very much again.

今年1月から8月までの募金を届けてくださいました。
